Reviews and Feedback
Customer Feedback The following reviews are some of the many that we have received from people who have stayed in Erw Wen over the years.
"We had fabulous holiday. The house is very well suited to 3 generations of people and parking for at least 3 cars a real bonus. We never tired of sitting in the kitchen, looking out over the bay. The house is very well equipped and it felt far more like a "home" than the standard holiday let. Hopefully we will be having a return visit soon.” D. Henshaw, April 2017.
"We spent a few days at Erw Wen in March and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is very spacious, comfortably furnished and well maintained but its trump card is the fabulous location overlooking the estuary and less than 50 yards/metres to the water's edge. The garden is enormous and must be great on summer evenings. The owners were most helpful when booking and throughout with our queries. The only snag we encountered on the first day or two of our stay was trying to get the hang of the Aga but we did get better as the week progressed and with the help of the Aga cookbook. We liked Erw Wen so much we are booking a two week break in the autumn." Ben - from Cambridge (March 2011).
"This was our first holiday at Erw Wen...The property was immaculate, spacious and very well furnished. We felt immediately at home and the following morning we were able to appreciate the superb views and enjoy the spacious, well kept garden. Local amenities were all within easy walking distance and the local restaurants were of an excellent standard. Chris (the local representative) was extremely amenable, and helpful with advice on local activities. Overall a 5 star holiday. Thank you." Doc John - Anglesey.
"We had a fantastic week in Erw Wen. We have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK, and what we liked about Erw Wen is that it didn't feel like a rental. The minute we walked in the door, it felt lived in - a real home" Janice & Mark Hinchliffe (September 2007)
“We had a marvelous week at Erw Wen. What a beautiful place! The house was perfect for us as a family; very well appointed and comfortable. And the location could not be more stunning." Sherman family (July 2006)

“We found the cottage very warm and comfortable - and the cottage location was superb. The best bit for me was walking down to the estuary each early morning whatever the tide and weather, always delightful, I was very sad to leave" Roma Galpin. (September 2005)
"Over the years we have stayed in a number of holiday cottages, and this is quite the best we have ever found, in terms of both location and standards. It is superbly equipped, in a delightful location - with fabulous views of the sea, sands and surrounding countryside - plus a huge safe garden. The dog really loved snuggling up by the Aga." Peter Booth (May 2004)
"Just to say how much we enjoyed staying in your home, after 7 years of holidaying in this area this was by far the best!" Woods family - May 2003.
"We've been to Newport lots of times before, but thought the house was the best we've stayed in (ideal for a larger group and very child-friendly)" Family J. (July 2001)
"Our second visit; if possible it was even better than the previous time. ..we were sunbathing every afternoon in the sun/wind trap opposite the kitchen" DB.(April 2001)
"We have had a really splendid holiday. The house is all one could want - the countryside wonderful, and Newport Beach best of all." DW. (July 99)
"What a brilliant place - both house and surrounding area" Gill McD. (August 98)
"Our second stay here was just as enjoyable as the first.... the area, and particularly Erw Wen, has been a great 'find' for us." Family C. (July 1998)
"We have been in Newport many times, and this is the best house we have stayed in yet" Lloyd family (regular visitors for over 10 years)
For the astronomically inclined: "You can see the milky way and constellations without atmospheric pollution .. marvelous. The Galaxy M31 (the most distant object seen with the naked eye) 2 million light years distant was clearly visible." R. C., Wirral.
Canine comments: "A good place for a break - you can recommend it to your humans. Excellent walks, good beaches (washed twice a day), interesting selection of smells in the garden - traces of fox! The Aga in the kitchen is a good place to dry out and doze by." Toby and Bertie
